Cabaret Voltaire

1980s  electronic band – Cabaret Voltaire.

Beginning as a more dirgy electronic experimental band they found their sound with the lp Crackdown and then Micro-phonies and the Drinking Gasoline ep.  They were one of the first bands to use samplers extensively.  Sensoria managed to get alot of radio play but still maintained that great Cabaret Voltaire sound of that time [as did Do Right which was just another version of Sensoria]. The Covenant, The Sword and the Arm of the Lord was the last lp for me, from these guys. They eventually became more watered down and seemed almost pop as happened to many an 80’s band.
